When Relationships Get Hard Pt. 2

Oct 4, 2026  •  Pastor John Greer

What does it actually look like to fight for a marriage when the fire has dimmed and the distance feels overwhelming? This session takes us deep into the heart of God's design for covenant relationship, drawing from Ephesians 4 and 5 to remind us that marriage is not just a legal arrangement but a sacred calling. Just as Christ pursued the church with humility, gentleness, and patience, we are called to pursue one another with that same intentionality. The session challenges us to ask a hard but necessary question: when things feel broken, what part belongs to us? Rather than pointing outward, we are invited to look inward first, recognizing that unresolved offenses, communication breakdowns, and misplaced priorities are often the quiet architects of disconnection. The good news woven throughout is that growing apart does not have to mean it is over. Revelation 2 offers us a powerful picture of a God who calls his people back to their first love, not through condemnation, but through the gentle conviction of the Holy Spirit, urging us to remember, repent, and return to the things we did at first.
