The Three Part You
This powerful teaching tackles one of the most misunderstood aspects of our Christian identity: the distinction between spirit, soul, and body. Drawing from Hebrews 4:12, we're reminded that God's Word divides between soul and spirit, exposing the deepest parts of our nature. The central revelation here challenges us to understand that when we accepted Christ, our spirit was instantly and completely transformed—sealed, perfected, and made righteous. We are literally justified, as if we'd never sinned. Yet many of us struggle because we don't understand that while our spirit is complete, our soul—our mind, will, and emotions—is still being renewed. This is where the battle really happens. Like a house with full electrical power but faulty wiring, we have all of God's power residing in our spirit, but it doesn't always flow properly through our unrenewed minds. The teaching uses Romans 12:2 to show us that transformation happens through renewing our minds, not through repeatedly getting saved or constantly confessing sins. The Holy Spirit convicts us of righteousness, not condemnation. This understanding liberates us from the exhausting cycle of feeling like we're never good enough and empowers us to align our thoughts, choices, and emotions with who we already are in Christ.
